Standard competition process

This is the standard competition process used for Saturday and weekday competitions and should be followed unless it is a special event or otherwise notified. 

Note that for weekday competitions, tee times should be booked via the shop. The notice board tee sheets are only used for Saturday competitions in the summer and special events.


Entry fees:

  • £2 to enter. 
  • £2 sweep - this is split between the winners.
  • £1 twos - this is split between players getting a two or a hole in one. It is rolled over if there are no twos.

Competition Process:
  1. Book a tee time on the competition tee sheet on the notice board.
  2. On the day of the competition before you play:
    1. Put your name the entry form outside the shop
    2. Put your entry fee in a brown envelope with your name, the event and date and the amount included and post it in the slot in the cupboard outside the shop.
    3. Enter the event using the HowDidIDo app on your phone. If you are unable to do this notify the shop of your entry.
    4. Take a scorecard for the competition course and enter your name, event, date and tee time and enter your handicap details given by the app. Tick the appropriate tees box.
  3. During your round:
    1. Give your scorecard to another member you are playing with to record your score. Do the same for them.
    2. Enjoy your golf!
  4. After your round:
    1. Check and agree you score with your marker. 
    2. Both of you must sign the card.
    3. Enter your score via the HowDidIDoApp
    4. You will need to sign and select the name of your marker and then submit your score.
    5. Post your scorecard into the same slot as the payment envelope.
    6. You can see where you are placed by looking at the Live leader board in the app.
    7. Results will be publish in the app and on the notice board once verified, usually the next day.

Issues and disputes

Any issues or disputes should be raised immediately via the club shop who will pass it on to the competitions secretary.
